What exactly is a Web Host?
A web host is a service provider that places your web site on a computer which is connected to the internet.
This then gives people who surf the internet a way to access your website.
A web host will typically have a fast connection to the Internet and may host thousands of web sites on many servers. The web host essentially rents out space to you so that you can get your website up on the world wide web.

How does a Website get a Name?
Websites typically have a name like www.yourcompany.com
This is a name that points to where your website is physically located (server).
In reality, your website will have an address which is just a set of numbers called an IP address and it looks something like this 205.11.109.64
An IP address is a unique address (just like a street address) for your website location.

How do I know which Hosting Plan is right for Me?
Several factors need to be taken into account to determine the right choice.
Diskspace is determined by the size of your website.
Bandwidth is the amount of actual data that can be transferred from a web server to the browser of the person who is looking at your website.

What type of payments do you accept?
We accept 4 types of payments:

What type of payment plans do you have?
We have four types of payment plans:

Annually
Prepay for an entire year and receive a 1 month discount* on hosting fees. Credit cards (via PayPal), cheque or money orders are all accepted.
* Please note that the 1month discount does not apply to our E-mail packages.
Semi-Annually
Prepay for six months* at a time. Credit cards (via PayPal), cheque or money orders are all accepted.
* Please note that E-mail packages are not eligible for this payment plan.
Quarterly
Prepay for three months* at a time. Credit cards (via PayPal), cheque or money orders are all accepted.
* Please note that E-mail packages are not eligible for this payment plan.
Monthly
Prepay for a month*. Credit cards only (via PayPal) are accepted.
* Please note that E-mail packages are not eligible for this payment plan.

What's the quickest way to set up my account?
Autobahn Web Hosting will only set up your account after payment has been received. Paying by credit card is the fastest way to get your account up and running.

If I choose credit card payment, will it be charged automatically every renewal period?
Yes, unless otherwise specified, the credit card you have on file with PayPal will be automatically charged on the renewal date. We require 30 days notice to cancel your subscription to our service.

What happens if I don't pay for my account?
Your account will be placed on administrative hold. Your web site will not be accessible during that period

Why is my account on hold?
Your account may be on administrative hold due to unpaid hosting fees, resulting from one of the following:

Your credit card was declined.
There is a credit card dispute.
Your check was not received.
Your money order was not received.

How do I reactivate my account?
To reactivate your account, you must pay overdue fees in full. Please contact our Billing Department via e-mail at billing@autobahnwebs.com, or call us at 604.308.9069
